During my work as an equine body worker, I have seen Reiki instantly help a horse recover from headaches, lameness issues, as well as emotional calming.

When you turn on the Reiki healing, horses will many times respond instantly to the calming healing effect.

Spooking and head shaking can be eliminated or reduced through consistent Reiki sessions.

It doesn’t take any special training to learn how to give Reiki to horses, or any other pet or loved one in your life.

Reiki for horses that suffer from back pain and bad saddle fitting could alleviate spinal misalignments.  Even doing Reiki on the saddle can help the saddle feel better to the horse.

Using Reiki on the horse’s legs is a wonderful way to help speed the healing and recovery for bowed tendons, or suspensory injuries.  I have actually seen how the recovery time is cut in half when Reiki is used on horse injuries.

It is amazing to watch and see how the horses eyes will close and the breathing changes during a Reiki session.  It makes my heart sing to see the healing effects of Reiki.

Dogs that are afraid of thunder, fireworks, gun shots, or any other loud noises can really benefit from Reiki.  It could have happened when they were puppies, a loud noise that scared them so deeply, that they felt that flight or fight survival feeling.  That’s what happens to dogs that are afraid of loud noises, they will run, hide, jump or do anything out the ordinary to try and escape the situation.

By doing Reiki on them before the situation occurs, can help alot with alleviating any cellular trauma that might have been associated with the loud noises.  Regular Reiki sessions can help in long term recovery.  Try not to wait until the situation occurs.

If the loud noise occurs unexpectedly, be prepared to wrap your dog securely with a t-shirt and ace bandage.  This will help your canine friend to feel secure and safe.  If you want something that works really well, you can buy the anxiety wrap for dogs here.

With the anxiety wrap combined with Reiki, you can go along way in helping your dog recover from the deep anxiety of loud noises.

Reiki can help dogs with abandonment issues.  Working around the heart chakra will help the dog release the fear of being left alone.  It may take a few sessions to see a complete recovery, but you will begin to see the changes happen over a course of a few weeks.  Make sure to combine Reiki with other anti-anxiety methods, for instance, crate training and giving your dogs things to do to occupy themselves.  Safe chew toys or bones give the dogs something physical to do when they are anxious.

And finally Reiki charged healing stones work great for helping to relieve stress and fear in dogs with high levels of anxiety.  Many times these stones have been specially charged with the Reiki energy, and then can be simply attached to the dog collar.  The charm or healing stone doesn’t have to be touching the dog because they are within the energy field of the dog.

Homeopathic remedies and Bach Flower essences are extremely beneficial for animals and pets in that they are also working through the energy field and affecting your pets body in many beneficial ways.  Charging your dog’s food with Reiki while it is being prepared can be extremely beneficial.  Drawing the Power and Mental symbols on the bottom of the food bowl will always ensure the food is charged with Reiki.

It is my hope that you have found these tips helpful for you and your dog, cat or horse friend.  All these methods can be helpful with any animal that experiences, anxiety, fear and along with abandonment issues.  It might be difficult getting a horse inside a dog crate, but all other methods work very well.

My first belief that long distance attunements are just as effective remotely as they are in person is because energy is energy. Any Reiki Master that has been practicing Reiki for any length of time has experienced the effects of long distance healing. As fast as you think a thought, the intention has been set and sent.

Inanimate objects can be attuned to Reiki healing. For instance, a crystal or pendulum can be attuned to Reiki healing energy. If an object can be attuned to Reiki without the belief system of whether or not Reiki attunements can be sent long distance or not, then why can’t they be sent to an initiate long distance? The initiate is tuned in, waiting to receive the Reiki symbols whether it is in person or long distance.

Our thoughts are like radio signals. As easy as it is to turn on a radio and listen to music that moves your soul, and raises emotion within you, so can a Reiki attunement done through thought and intention. Radio signals don’t have any other means of traveling other than through emissions of signals, that are received at the other end by a “receiver”. The same is true for Reiki Attunements. They are sent through mental signals that are received by the initiate through their innate ability to receive telepathic messages.

We are receiving messages all day long. Whether consciously or subconsciously. The more you use Reiki and learn to tune in and fine tune your transmitter and receiver, the more in tune you become. Your intuitive abilities start to become sharper to the point of surprising you when you think of someone, and the next thing you know, they are calling or emailing you.

If you are struggling with using Reiki for long distance healing, and it’s hard for you to focus…then this quick tip might help you with your Reiki techniques.

Really try concentrating on learning your symbols. Write them out, and practice saying them so they become natural to you. Then you won’t be so worried about using the symbols. Many people get hung up on remembering what they look like and what they sound like. Using them often and visualizing what they look like, will help you in sending long distance Reiki.

Get a notebook, and sit down and just practice them like doodling. Just 10 minutes a day, and within a week, you will have them down pat. And then I decorated a gourd bowl with the symbols, and put all the names of people and pets I wanted to work on at one time, on separate pieces of paper. Then I could hold the bowl with all the people inside of it, and softly say the symbols while sending the long distance Reiki.

Be conscious of your self talk and don’t allow yourself to talk negatively about yourself.

Here are a couple of examples for you. If you go on a job interview, and you walk out just knowing you blew it, your body will immediately become weakened and you will be making yourself susceptible to illness or dis-ease. When you come away from a Reiki session, allow these feelings of self-sabotage release themselves, and start talking up to yourself. When you walk out of the job interview, tell yourself you did the best you could, and if you don’t get this job, there is a better one coming. And many times that’s what will happen, you will find a better opportunity.

Don’t participate in unhealthy lifestyles, live an active and outgoing type of lifestyle where you eat healthy foods and don’t participate in addictive habits. Talk positively about your job, and your relationships, and that’s what you will attract to yourself.

I have had many clients during the years of teaching Reiki that had a love and interest in helping dogs. Many of them either had dogs of their own, or friends dogs for which they had a deep desire to help. Many with health issues like hip dysplaysia, heart and lung problems, or emotional trauma and abandonment. Reiki Hand positions for Dogs are very similar to people, but I will go into more detail in this article.

It is always a reminder that as a Reiki Master or Practitioner, we cannot make the mistake of diagnosing a problem. Many times we are asked if we can “read” the problem and see what it is or what caused it. Sometimes I can pickup impressions from the body telling me what it is, and how it felt when they got injured, but I always defer any type of diagnosis to a veterinarian or medical professional. It can be a huge mistake to make a diagnosis and have it be completely wrong.

When starting out on a dog, always make sure the dog is friendly. Don’t just assume the dog is going to like you or enjoy the treatment. Sometimes when the body is making adjustments, there might be a little shooting pain that is the body’s way of releasing the injury, but it can feel uncomfortable to the dog and they might react to it. So be sensitive to the dogs reactions. If you see them looking uncomfortable, or wanting to move away from you, be respectful.

Allow the dog to move to a more comfortable position, and then try working hands off. Many times the energy may feel unusual for the dog to understand what is happening, since it is an unfamiliar sensation. But once they realize the pain is going away, and you are helping it to feel better, they will relax and fall asleep. In fact that is usually the first reaction when they feel the calming Reiki energy start to flow their bodies.

I always start on the part of the body they feel most comfortable with me touching. It could be around the face or head, or around the shoulders and chest. Hands can be positioned either on the top of the head with the other hand under the jaw, creating a sandwich with your hands. I have found sandwiching to be more comforting to the dog, and it allows the Reiki energy to flow between your hands and encompasses all the parts of the body in between.

When you see the dog start to blink very slowly, and yawn, and lay out flat on their sides, you know they have thoroughly enjoyed the session, keep working by moving your hands from the head all the way down until you get to their tail. The tail is the end of the central nervous system and is a very important part of the wholeness of the body. Keep working moving your hands where they feel guided. My rule of thumb is, if my hands feel “stuck” to one place, then they are still working, if my hands feel like they are being pushed off, then it’s time to move to another place on the body.

Keep applying the Reiki hand positions for the dog until you feel the work is done. With dogs it can be from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. It may take several sessions to see a noticeable difference, Don’t give up.

Our refrigerator started making a loud womping noise in the motor.  It might have been the compressor…not sure.  But it had been building up for a few days, and we were just not ready to spend a lot of money buying a new refrigerator.  So I figured I didn’t have anything to lose, so I leaned down next to the fridge, and put my hand back behind there.  And I started sending the symbols and using the symbol names to fix whatever needed to fixed in the refrigerator.  And within just a couple of minutes, the womping noise started slowing down.  It slowed down to one every few seconds, and then every minute, until it finally stopped.  It took a total of about 10 – 15 minutes.  The Electrician turned to me and said “what did you do? tighten something?”.  I laughed, and told him about Reiki and it changes energy.  But since I was so new to it, I couldn’t explain it very well.

Our refrigerator lasted another couple of months until we could buy a new one.  People have used Reiki to start dead batteries, I have not had that experience.  If you can imagine it, it can become it!  Use Reiki on Everything!

Reiki Attunement Symbol

What is a Reiki Master?  It simply means that when someone has gone from Level I Reiki all the way through to Level III Reiki, they obtain a certificate that says they are a Reiki Master.  These levels are obtained through an attunement process that can only be done by another Reiki Master.

The process can take a year or more, just depending on how much you are drawn to using this healing method.  If it becomes your passion like it did with me, then it could be as quick as 6 months to go through all the necessary Reiki Training.

Are Reiki Masters better healers?  The word healer is a misnomer actually.  The Reiki practitioner is not the healer, it is actually the person that gets well!  When someone is sick, and then they get well, they are the healer.  The Reiki practitioner or Master is only the conduit for the healing energy to pass through to the recipient.
